video marketing made easy
Reading Time: 3 minutes

In today's competitive world of online marketing, video marketing is one tool that can really help you stand out. It gives you the opportunity to communicate directly with potential clients or customers and talk about everything important to your business. Learn how to make the most out of video marketing with the tips from the following article.

Video Marketing is more than YouTube

While being present on YouTube for your video marketing is necessary, think about looking farther than that. They, Vimeo, and others do have advertising that might distract from and even compete with your videos. Online video platforms can be a good investment that gives you better branding choices and total creative control. Brightcove, Bisontherun are all possibilities.

Video Marketing goes hand in hand with Social Media

Combine your video marketing efforts with social marketing. After you post your video, announce it in your Facebook account and tweet about it on Twitter. This will drive your followers to view your video where they can give their immediate feedback on the video's effectiveness. This will also encourage them to share the video link with their social network.

Begin your video by telling your viewers what you are going to teach them or share with them. After that, follow through on your promise and deliver the content. If you state clearly what you are going to do, and then do it, viewers are more likely to watch your videos again.

Make most of your videos yourself in your video marketing campaign, but do spend a little on a few showcase videos. A showcase video is one that you would use at a trade show or conference. These may require hiring professionals to help, but they also have a more professional feel and will reflect highly on your business.

Be Professional with Video Marketing

Do your best to create a video marketing campaign that conveys a professional image. This means you should avoid using the effects available on programs such as Windows Movie Maker and other basic software. Keep your editing simple by simply cutting or dissolving to a black screen instead of using standardized editing effects.

Try cutting your longer videos into smaller segments. Many video marketers don't consider the audience's attention span, so they make videos that are too long. Most people will not watch a 10-minute video about a single product. Try breaking a long video like that into multiple pieces that can be released once each day.

Try using others in your videos. This will give people the idea that you are not full of hot air. While it may be a little difficult to convince someone that the people in your video are truly fans of you and your products, it comes across better than always doing videos alone.

People love competition, which is why holding a video contest is such a great video marketing strategy. Ask viewers to create their own videos and then have everyone vote on them. This will help drive viewers to your site and energize them by giving them a chance to win something.

Keywords are Important in Video Marketing

Don't forget to include keywords in the filename of your video! Google may index that too, and some sites where you upload your video will include it on the page. Include a few main keywords to ensure your video gets seen by your target audience who may be searching for it.

Short is sweet. Quick videos are more likely to be viewed in full than long-winded commercials. The less you say, the better, but be sure to pack your content full of great information so that the time spent on camera is truly worth watching once you upload the video to the web.

Competition is fierce, especially on the Internet. Hopefully, this article has given you some inspiration about video marketing and taught you what you need to know to get started. Your next successful step in business could be just a few clicks and a camera away, so what are you waiting for?

      Hi Bruno!

There was a time where I was using lots of videos, but I slacked off. I know the power of video marketing, especially if we insert a video in our blog post. Google will certainly give a higher ranking for that.
Also, the shorter the video the better. People will usually look at the time on the video and if it is too long, they won’t even press play!
Oh the other hand, If they see it as a 3 minute video, they will probably see it through to the end.
Thank you for giving me a “push” It is something I need to do.

Now I just have to do it 😉 I am interested in the Video Traffic Academy. I have saved the link and will probably buy it.

      Hey Bruno,

Great article on the importance of video marketing! Love that you brought up that you should be using Keywords when you are publishing your video. That is something that most people just don’t do. It only takes about 5 minutes time and could mean a world of difference to your rankings.

      Thanks for sharing,

      • Bruno Buergi

      Hi Bruno,

First of all thank you for visiting my blog and the comment.

When it comes to video marketing, most people ignore that fact about keywords. Even those people who constantly stuff unnecessary keywords in the blog posts tend to ignore the fact that video marketing also requires enough keyword research.

I find it very funny…it is always two extreme… do keyword stuffing in blogs and use no keywords at all in videos.

      • Bruno Buergi

Thank you Annetta for your comment. I think most people are not aware that the description of the video is more important for the search engines than the video itself.

There’s no doubt that online video marketing is on the rise. Numerous studies and statistics prove that video works. In fact, Forrester Research found that videos were 50 times more likely to receive an organic first page ranking than traditional text pages. That’s a pretty impressive stat!
