Search Engine Optimization Working by Bruno Buergi
Reading Time: 3 minutes

Is Search Engine Optimization Working after all these Google animals updates? My answer is yes. When you have a blog or website, you still have to optimize them for the search engines. The reason is, the search engine must know what your website or blog post is about.

What changed over the last few months is, that Google made some changes and prefers now high-quality content. Google wants content that is readable and not written for the search engines. This means keyword stuffing does not work anymore.

You still use your keyword in your content, but you don’t have to write it a certain amount. It’s still working, when you have the keyword in your title, first paragraph, subtitle and last paragraph. And when it’s fit in the text and it looks natural, then use it.

It’s more important that you have a plugin like WordPress SEO from Joost de Valk. You just fill in the info in the fields provided and the plugin does the most important tasks so that Google knows about your topic.

It’s also relevant, that you choose your categories wisely and that all topics you write about have anything to do with your main keyword for your entire site.

For example, when your blog is about earning money online, and you write about dieting then you have a problem. In this case, it’s better when you have a separate blog about this topic.

Search Engine Optimization Working: Backlink Strategies

In the past was it important that you have as many backlinks as possible. Nowadays for search engine optimization to work is it important that you have a different link profile than in the past.

Two ways of links are important when it comes to backlinking. First, social media links, and second, quality links.

For social media links, you can use tools like Social Adr to share your content. And another good way is to be engaged in a group to help each other to spread your word. The better your content, the more likely other people will share your content on social media sites.

Another tool I use to get good backlinks from a variety of sites is IMAutomator. There you can submit bookmarks up to  100 sites with different PR (page rank).

Do not share your content to only high PR sites. Especially when you are new in the online world. It’s suspicious for Google and it’s not natural. Therefore Google will flag your site.

But keep in mind, do not create a mass of backlinks in a very short time. A slower backlink building is a saver for your site. And also, you need a variety of different links, therefore is it wise, to use different tools to create your backlinks.

Now you have learned something about Search Engine Optimization Working nowadays. it’s now time to take action and create the links to your site, so you get found on the search engines.

I am so happy that my partner looks after SEO on the website…one small part of marketing I don’t need to worry about overly. I just do the writing. I tried when I first started out writing with keyword search in mind, but it hindered the flow of what I was writing so I stopped. I decided I would just write about whatever I wanted, and it does seem to have worked. Maybe the magic pixie stuff my partner does works then!

To write with specific keywords is not always easy. It’s good when you have someone who’s doing your SEO Andrea.

Cool, I haven’t heard of those social tools before but I’ll take a look. I use Hootsuit to automate social media sharing!
