Generate Leads
Reading Time: 4 minutes

When you are trying to make your blog posts into something that is going generate leads, you need to make sure that you are writing in a format that generates leads. Some people like interesting and nice content, but they are not able to write items that are going to compel people to buy things or generate leads. These articles need to be focused on at least getting people to contact you for more information. Following the format below will allow you to create articles that are compelling to the reader on a business level.

Use The Right Title

When you are titling your material, you need to make sure that you are using a title that makes the article sound like a business article. You need to be sure that you are honest with your customers. You do not want to trick your customers into reading an article that is designed to sell them on your products without telling them that you are trying to sell them on something.

When you structure your title, it is wise to create top ten lists or offer information that will be helpful to the customer. You want the customer to know that they are getting information that is going to help them. You want your customers to want to click on the article. They may not know how long the article is, but they will know that they are going to get some kind of information that helps to know if the product or service will benefit them.

Write Real Information To Generate Leads

You need to make sure that your articles are offering real information right from the very beginning. You cannot start your article with a sales pitch, and you need to make sure that you are writing about something that is informational. You begin the article with information to make sure that you are going to capture the reader's attention.

When the reader is intrigued by what they are reading, they are going to soak up everything that you say. The article can offer information about your business through the things you are talking about, but you are still offering information about the topic in the article.

Stay On Topic

When you are writing your article, you need to make sure that you are staying on topic when you are writing your articles. Your articles need to be on-topic because you do not want to bore your readers. They will be able to tell when you are not talking about the topic in the title of the article, and they will get disinterested. When your readers are disinterested, they are going to leave your site to find something that is going to be more intriguing to them.

The Sales Pitch

The sales pitch that you offer to your readers needs to be constructed in a way that makes the sales pitch sound nice. You do not want to sound like a pushy salesman. You do not want to seem like you are desperate, and you do not want to turn off your readers right when they get to the end of the article.

The sales pitch needs to begin as close to the end of the article as possible. You want to be able to show your readers that you want to help them. You look like you want to help when you are saving your sales pitch for the end of the article. The sales pitch should be as compact as possible, and you can make it compact by making sure that it is at the end of the article.

The Form

The form of the sales pitch needs to be as nice and clean as possible. You must make sure that you are offering assistance to your customers. You have spent the entire article offering information to your customers, and you must offer a small bit of assistance at the end of the article, also called a „call to action.”

You can show your customers that you can help them with their needs, and you need to be sure that you use as few words as possible. You can tell your customers that you have services available to help them. The customers will take note that you offer that service, and they will remember when they need your help in the future. You cannot expect all your customers to contact you immediately, but you can expect them to remember you when your sales pitch is polite.

When you are writing articles that will generate leads, you need also to offer a contact form, so your potential customer can ask questions. When the customers are asking you questions, they will be more inclined to buy from you because you offered honest answers.

    • Hello Bruno:

You make a lot of valuable points in your post. You are right on target! We don’t have much time to grab someone’s attention. Once we have it, we have to keep it.

I like too that you mention that the content needs to deliver what was promised in the title! I’ve read so many articles or posts where that is not the case! There is often a “bait and switch” tactic used by the author. All this will do is get readers upset with you and they will instantly leave. I’m sure I can almost promise you they will not be back!

Keep delivering valuable content Bruno! Tell it like it is! 🙂

Another great post Bruno and definitely agree you have to offer great information that is going to help your reader and not use a sales pitch as this will frighten your readers away. Thanks for sharing.

      Hi, Bruno,

I usually don’t leave comments on blog posts with no date – may I ask why you don’t include one?

Generating leads is a top priority in my business because my entire business is based on the foundation of list building. Without a subscriber/customer base, your business doesn’t mean a whole lot.

I agree with your points, and think you’re spot on with the advice you’re giving.

Getting the attention of the reader is important, like you say, and providing valuable information that will solve their biggest problem at the moment is the best way.

The sales pitch should flow as a natural part of the information given, in my opinion.

Yes, even highly intelligent readers like to be guided with a strong call to action because they want the burden of ‘deciphering’ what to do with the information just consumed lifted from their shoulders.

I couldn’t agree more! 🙂 You have to give value to your readers. This results in more folks wanting to connect with you on a higher level.

Thanks for sharing this valuable article, Bruno – will be sharing with friends.

      Have a great day.
      – Carol

        Hi Carol

Thank you for visiting my blog. I just have not found out how you can publish a date in the theme I use.

In my business is it the same, generating leads is the life blood. When you have a list, you can communicate much better with your potential customers. And also you can give more value to them.

This was a very good post. The advice is sound and makes a lot of sense. Many times we don't pay attention to these fine point that you have put forward. The focus should always be to help the reader with his or her problems and give them access to further information if needs be. I agree with you that the sales pitch should be the very last thing or depending on the relationship with the reader, it might also be wise to develop a relationship first before pitching. This can turn off the reader and you end loosing both a reader and and prospect.

      Keep wring good content.
